A sneak peek of the behind the scenes of Jessie Farrell’s “Let’s Talk About Love” music video. Well, me at least. Sorry! I can’t post the Jessie pictures yet… But don’t fear, I captured the full 15 hour day (long, but great day!) with my camera and my new camcorder, so stay tuned for all the magical, behind the scenes moments with Jessie and her band.
I can say that the video is amazing and Jessie was rockin’ some pretty hot shoes.

Look out! I can’t wait to see it all come together. I’m so excited for Jessie. She is such a beautiful person, it is truly breathtaking to see her perform.
Speaking of exciting… Jessie’s single is Number 12 on the charts this week!! Keep requesting and hopefully she will take it all the way to the top! You can download Jessie’s sweet song, “Let’s Talk About Love” on iTunes.
Safe travels to Jessie, Jesse, Jesse, Kylee, and Ryland, who head off on tour… again… tomorrow. They will be traveling to McBride, Grande Prairie, Banff, and Spruce Grove.
PS. I will be posting some fun photos from the Whistler show soon… Stay tuned! While your waiting, go listen to Jessie’s second single, “Fell Right Into You” on her myspace site.
***This Just In*** Jessie Farrell will play at the Calgary Stampede on the MAIN STAGE!!! Yee Haw***

I saw this sweet sunset outside my window when I was not watching the Nucks vs Ducks game cuz we don’t have cable among many reasons and ran out into the street in a tank top, tights, and wet hair… and my camera, of course. I was a little cold and people pointed and laughed at me, but it was worth it.

Getting There.
Yesterday, my rollerblading destination was Jericho Beach in Point Grey (approximately 8km round trip according to the gmap pedometer). I stripped my gear to the bare minimum (body, one lens, extra battery, 2GB card) and packed it into my camcorder bag, which is much smaller and lighter than my big, honking, “beast” bag.
I set off and headed down 2nd Ave all the way to Point Grey. It was smooth sailing. That is until I got to Jericho (see below). Here is an important lesson I learnt yesterday. Jericho Beach is not the best place to rollerblade. Biking? Yes. Walking and running? Tally-ho. Rollerblading? Not advised.
Let’s review some places where you shouldn’t go rollerblading:
1. Gravel pathways or fields of long, wet grass.

2. Muddy swamp land.

3. The soft, slippery, muddy banks of a duck pond.

4. Mossy parts near forested areas.

5. Sandy Beaches.

Please do not attempt this if you are a Novice rollerblader. This is serious business. If you are a beginner and attempt to rollerblade around the slippery, muddy banks of a duck pond, the chances are pretty good that you will fall into said duck pond. The likelihood that I, an experienced and “professional” rollerblader, would fall into the duck pond is say 50%. So the odds are in my favour.

PS. Next time, can someone please remind me to bring shoes? Some flip flops? Anything really. Some plastic bags I can strap to my feet?
Stay tuned for Part 2 of my Rollerblading Adventure to Jericho Beach.

Bet you didn’t think I could be any bigger of an uber nerd after all my nerd things posts (apple, pez, and gear)? Well think again.
Here’s my Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD collection. All 7 seasons of it.

Please don’t calculate the cost. It hurts me to to “quantify” my Buffy obsession. Rather, I like to think of Buffy as an “essential” cost of living, like cupcakes, consumer electronics and Visine during allergy season (errrggg!). Can’t put a price tag on cupcakes, can you? Well, Cupcakes can. $13.50 for 6 flippin’ cupcakes. Now that hurts me.
Back to Buffy, the Slayer of the Vampires. Since meeting Carrie (also uber Buffy fan), I have agonized over choosing my favourite Buffy episodes. Well, maybe “agonized” is a little too dramatic, “delegated some thought towards in concentrated bursts” is more accurate. You see, after watching Buffy more than once (try, at least 10 times) my favourite characters, moments, and episodes tend to change depending on my mood, attitude and level of attentiveness while watching the Buffster. So, it’s difficult for me to separate my temporary “feelings” from my favourite Buffy moments. But, I’ll try. Keep on truckin’ like the trooper that I am.
Lisa’s Favourite Buffy Episodes:
- The Body (Season 5)
- Smashed — Wrecked — Gone (as a trilogy, Season 6)
- Something Blue (Season 4)
- Surprise (Season 2)
- Hush (Season 4)
- The Gift (Season 5)
- Tabula Rasa (Season 6)
- Angel (Season 1)
- New Moon Rising (Season 4)
- Doppelgangland (Season 3)
- School Hard (Season 2)
- Restless (Season 4)
- Storyteller (Season 7)
- Band Candy (Season 3)
Not quite the stereotypical favourites, are they? Except “Hush” and “The Body”. Every Buffy fan has to pick these two Whedon favs, or we wouldn’t be uber fans, now would we?

There are 4 things I always bring with me wherever I go:
- my laptop,
- my Canon SLR with at least 2GB in memory, small tripod, extra battery, flash,
- my pink ipod,
- my headphones (see picture below).

These items are locked into my memory with a priority stamp that reads: Level one (High Priority). I rarely, if ever, forget to bring these items on trips with durations over 3 hours long.
4 Things I often forget to bring with me wherever I go:
- water,
- snacks,
- money,
- personal identification i.e., driver’s license.
Got your priorities in order? Yes. Definitely. Good.
I’m glad we worked that out.
