Admittedly, the Macbook Air is gorgeous. And super thin. And lightweight.
But I just can’t see myself ever paying that much for a computer, no matter how “portable” it is.
Not even if it comes in a manilla envelope.

I’m with Mitchell on this one.
The Air is really nice, but the price is just scary.

If there was ever going to be a display of emotion that would tug at someone’s heart strings, and cause them to gift you a MacBook Air, that was it!
Failing that, you could try hugging that particular MBA with all your love in the hopes that it petitions the courts for you to adopt it?

A word came to mind that I find hard to say, *cough*adorable*cough* I wish I could buy you a mac but I’m a poor student sooooo… sorry! Best of luck in your macbook air endeavors.

They’re so expensive though… and for what? You get no optical drive and the screen has a whackin great border around it like a laptop from the 90s.
Aside from that, though, it’s one sexy piece of kit… if you like that sort of thing.

I do believe you got anything you wanted whenever that face was put to use, who could say no?

The macbook air was the clear winner at northern voice this year. Everyone wanted a photo with one.

The Macbook Air is really nice, so thin and lightweight, and the most important, it’s Apple!
If you have a Mac Pro, or an iMac or even an mini, to share the disc drivers, and store your back-ups [this also could be made with the new Time Capsule], they’ll be the perfect hardware for every creative in the world…

@Mitchell — I was a big skeptic of the MB air, but when I held it in my arms and caressed the soft brushed metal, I just fell in love. I’m hoping the feelings are mutual, so I can skip the whole 4 grand wooing phase.
@xen — especially for solid state. yowzers.
@Ian — but then I’d have to let go of the MB air. i can’t do it.
@Nate — i actually had more money when i was a student. and medical and dental coverage, and student discounts on public trans. so cry me a river. not a big one, or i’d have to pay full price for the boat fare across it.
@Dan — i do. i like that sort of thing a lot. yes it’s true about the optical drive, but you can buy a matching super drive, and don’t forget time capsule, and you’ll probably want apple tv too. super affordable.
@Compose — most people unfortunately. maybe i should squeeze out a few tears next time.
@Duane — still bummed i couldn’t go. ah well, next year.

That music was fantastic - what was it Lisa? Oh, you were great too, but that goes without saying, right?!

My computer would fit in that same manilla envelope. It’d be a little tighter… it’s a 12″ PowerBook… but I think it’d fit.

Macbook Air is nice, but you’re really cute, Lisa.

Lisa, yeah they’re real nice. We ran one thru our x-ray not too long ago. Maybe it’s best that you don’t have one. We wouldn’t want to hassle you going thru one of our security checkpoints!
