Best thing about England so far. Mmm. Think I ordered enough? Yeah. Should hold me off till dinner.
PS. you can see in the bottom left corner that I’ve already spilt maple syrup all over the bed. Wouldn’t really be Canadian if I didn’t do something a little crazy with maple syrup.

PPS. It’s foggy and cold. Typical.
Independent Thought:
The best vacation deals are not necessarily the ones that have luxury flights. Take a heavenly cruise. Even a car rental can be fun if you choose it to be so.

In my on-going quest to simplify my iLife and increase productivity, I have decided to dump one of the 15 social nets I belong to each week. Is it really 15? That explains my ability to procrastinate building Redpilot’s web site for a year. *guilty as charged*
This week, I’m leaning towards Mashable. I joined just over a week ago and haven’t really given it a go, but to be honest, I just don’t like the look and feel of “mymashable”. While I like the site for keeping up to date with all 2.0 mash-up news, the community seems scattered an inaccessible. Plus, the ratio of bikini bum, girls-sucking-on-lollipops, and lol cat avatars likens this community population to myspace. And that ain’t a good thing. While I hope my 13 friends will forgive me and find me on my other social nets, I’m afraid that Mashable just doesn’t quite cut it.
Unable to make the final decision myself, I have enlisted my good friend, Speak & Spell the talking computer, to help me decide.
There it is. The Speak & Spell has spoken. Mashable, you have one day to pack up your belongings, iFriends, and leave my bookmarks bar forever.
PS. I’m off to the airport to catch my flight to sunny England! don’t worry I packed a few of my favourite Wired items in my suitcase. Cheerio!

Well, I’m off to England tomorrow for 8 days. I will be flying via Heathrow, London on British Airways. I am actually looking forward to the flight. 8.5 hours goes by in a snap with all-you-can-watch-movie touch screen display! I will be blogging whilst abroad, so stay tuned. You never know what kinds of tricksy things I will get up to in Jolly England. Maybe I’ll finally find Hogwarts, or get locked in a telephone box, get attacked by a three pronged plug, or maybe even take a ride with Postman pat.

Since being featured on Best Web Gallery last week, I’ve received a whole lotta best CSS gallery l0v3. In appreciation of awarding my blog a spot in their best design galleries, I just wanted to send some link love in their direction.

My beloved friend, Felix the Cat, passed away yesterday morning. He was 14 and had a very good life. Felix liked sleeping on clean white sheets, eating expensive cat food, dipping his paws in milk, licking up the sugary milk at the bottom of my nighttime cereal bowl, attacking moths, running in the backyard, watching tennis and nature shows about woodland animals, and chasing string, red yarn, and thin twigs. I will miss Mr. Felix. He was a very happy and lovely cat.

Sometimes it’s really hard to sum up your emotions towards someone on a card. And with the range of emoticons increasing every day, you may find yourself unable to define the complexity of your feelings of love with
In anticipation of Valentine’s day, I took out my sketch pad to draw some loving illustrations to help inspire you to make your own “hey, i just love you rotten” cards for your special someone or perhaps someone who isn’t so special and you don’t even like.
For that annoying co-worker:
For that person you know nothing about because you’ve never listen to a word they say because they are boring and you get really distracted by their inappropriate fashion statements that you pretend to like, but don’t:
For that ex-boyfriend/girlfriend who broke up with you the day before Valentine’s Day:
For that needy facebook friend who sends you 20 quiz requests like, “What Kind of Sunflower are You?” everyday: (I guess at the end of the day, giving them a wee bit of sympathy makes you a better person).

MostlyLisa.com is featured on Best Web Gallery! Sweeeeeeeeeeet! I have been drooling over the uber sites on Best Web Gallery (my all-time favourite design gallery) for almost a year. In fact, I have a Sunday night tradition where I made a nice pot of tea and set out a huge plate of chocolate covered biscuits and peruse all the newly awarded sites on BWG, FWA and the plethora of CSS galleries I follow.
The real props should go to the award-winning designers of this blog: Coding Monkeys.co.uk.
Next week, I will be heading to Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England, which is quickly becoming my home away from home, to meet up with Tom, Coding Monkey’s Head honcho. After he schools me on the Xbox, flaunts his new MB Air, and we hit up Tescos to grab some Onken and crisps, I will sit down with Tom and ask him a few questions about his successful web design business. Stay tuned for that interview next week!

Jump to some pictures from my last trip to England.

Ahh the Wired Magazine’s Sexiest Geek of 2007… a super legit contest where girls are judged on their fan-written, incomplete bios, and how hot they look in a single photograph (preferably a photograph of the sexy geek in lingerie or swimwear)… it really is the stuff of internet dreams.
Ever since I was nominated as a sexy geek, I have received serious criticism for being yet another cute girl trying to increase her blogging stats by writing about geeky or tech things without any real knowledge on the subjects. Like that’s a winning formula for success or something? Uh, yeah, like all you need is a hot girl, posting flirtatious videos of herself fondling Apple products and *boom* she’s an internet Celebrity? Yeah, dreeeeeeam on, it takes loads of hard work and dedication to be an iCeleb, and some of us (as in all the people in Canada) have to fly to far off nations just to fondle an iPhone.
So in order to prove my point, I decided to ask my favourite advanced talking computer, Mr. Speak & Spell, what he thought about the situation:
I am currently 154 votes away from #10, not like I’m counting or checking on a daily basis or care. My self-esteem and mental health are not entirely dependent on you voting by pushing the green arrow beside my name UP. And if I get any more negative votes, there’s only an 85% chance that I will write a song about rehab, or check myself into rehab for drunk tweeting.
Be sure to leave me a comment if you’ve voted for me. From the list of voters, I shall pick one person’s name out of a hat to win a most fabulous prize. Details on that prize have yet to be determined in my mind, so it’s probably gonna be pretty sweet!

Always wondered what an actress thinks about before an audition? Here’s a brief, but poignant look inside an A&W commercial audition with Mostly Lisa.
If you haven’t seen Peep Show, this video might seem strange. If you have seen Peep Show, this video also might seem strange. It’s basically a win win.
