Lisa Bettany is a blogger, multimedia producer, photographer, writer, actress and “part-time” model. She is also a pretty huge geek.

Lisa currently lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada and co-runs Redpilot, a multimedia company that produces videos, music, and photos.

She spends most of her waking moments attached to her Macs and Canon cameras, editing and producing sweet videos, writing music and songwriting, getting rejected and demoralized at acting and modeling auditions, then eating heaps of biscuits, and reflecting on life 2.0 styles:

Lisa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Linguistics and a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, specifically acoustics and articulatory phonetics of early infant speech development and language acquisition. During this smart phase in her life, she worked in Speech Technology, researched baby talk, learnt 3 other languages (French, Spanish & Russian), and taught acoustics and linguistic stuff at university. After graduating, she was fatigued from analyzing babies wailing/crying/burping and having to act all posh and condescending and dropping so many latin words, that she decided to focus her attention on more creative pursuits.

Lisa competed nationally in figure skating (ice dance) until 2000, when her partner dropped her, which resulted in a broken back and deflated ego. After this career-ending injury, she has been unable to wear spandex, rhinestones, or utter the word “zamboni” or “salchow” without seriously affecting her mental stability. She also competed provincially in track (400m), but never made it to nationals because of an irrational fear of starting blocks. That, and she’s a complete klutz.

NB. She mostly comes out at night… mostly.
